United Way Oxford received a cheque for $50,000.
OXFORD COUNTY - The OLG is giving back to local communities including Oxford County.
Through the Wintario50 Community Contest, players who purchased a WINTARIO50 lottery ticket could then enter for a chance to win a personal prize, and also an opportunity to nominate a United Way region for a chance for it to win up to $250,000.
The charity that benefited from the contest was United Way, as all 26 regions were given funds. Leading the way was United Way Greater Toronto and United Way Halton and Hamilton with the grand prize of $250,000. The next amount handed out was $50,000, which went to 10 regions, including United Way Oxford. Lastly, 14 regions received $5,000, and United Way Brant, and United Way Haldimand and Norfolk were among those recipients.
The Wintario50 Community Contest is a part of the 50th anniversary of OLG, which has the goal to celebrate the people and communities that shaped their winning story over the past five decades.
