WOODSTOCK - The Toyota Plant in the Friendly City has made a generous donation to the Woodstock Art Gallery.
The gallery says they are thankful that Toyota plays a big part in our community.
The $35,000 donation from Toyota Manufacturing Canada will help pay back the remaining half of the project that renovated the Woodstock Art Gallery. The renovations went under the WAG Capital Campaign and the goal was to renovate the 2nd and 3rd floor of the gallery. Erin Beacroft is the Communications/Facility Rentals Coordinator for the gallery and has more incite on the donation.
"They've made a donation of $35,000, and that helps close out the WAG Capital Campaign to renovate the third and second floor. So the Woodstock City Council directive was to raise half of that for the project, which is $400,000. Toyota's gift to rename the Education Centre helps complete that."
Beacroft also added that its important that the plant gets involved.
"It's just wonderful to have a company like Toyota Motor Manufacturing just even donate that because they are a large part of our community and it helps to to ensure that we have the classes and workshops."
