Woodstock Minor Baseball is submitting an application to host the tournament from August 23rd to August 26th this year.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Minor Baseball is looking to host the next 13-U Canadian National Finals.
The tournament is set to take place from August 23rd to 26th next year.
Special Projects Director Jeremy Jeanson says the tournament will feature some of the best peewee baseball teams in the country.
"It will be the top 10 teams from across Canada competing for the National Championship title. We'd be hosting over 150 players, more than 250 family members, 20 different umpires and 10 Baseball Canada reps coming into the city to have this tournament."
Jeanson says Woodstock Minor Ball is submitting their application on Monday.
"After the application process we would then do a presentation to Ontario Baseball which would take place on November 12th. The selection process would take place after that and I believe by the end of November we would be told of our success or non success being the host city."
If accepted, the tournament would be held at all the numerous baseball diamonds in Woodstock; including the new facilities in Cowan Fields.
