Tickets go on sale Monday morning for Woodstock Day at Rogers Centre with the Jays.
WOODSTOCK - This year's Woodstock Day at Rogers Centre will see the Toronto Blue Jays playing host to the Atlanta Braves Saturday April 18th.
Tickets for the event go on sale Monday morning at the Community Complex Box Office - hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (office is closed between noon - 1:00 pm).
According to Communications and Special Events Manager for the City Brad Janssen Elgie Bus Lines will provide transportation to and from the games "as well we have four train cars lined up at this point, might have the opportunity to get more depending on the demand but we have VIA Rail leaving Woodstock at 8:13 am. Two departure times coming back from Toronto at 5:30 and 7:05."
Janssen highlights that there is one change from last year's event. "The neat thing about this year is, we've listened to the people we're going back to our original seating, our original location between third base and left field. Last year we went to the 200 section, it was fine but some people said not as good as where we were going so it's a couple dollars more but the advantage points, we find are a little bit more agreeable to the people that go down."
Like the past years, all of the kids between the ages of 5 and 14, who are accompanied by an adult, will have their name put into a draw to throw out the first pitch or participate in the 7th inning stretch.
A local choir - which has not been determined at this point - will sing the national anthems before the game.
Janssen encourages those wanting to travel by train to purchase their tickets early as they tend to sell quickly and they may not be able to get more seating on the train. All of the details of the event are posted on the City of Woodstock website, cityofwoodstock.ca.
