One man from Woodstock is facing multiple weapons charges after they had a gun with them in front of a business yesterday on Dundas Street.
WOODSTOCK - Police received a call yesterday morning about a man with a gun in front of a business on Dundas Street.
Police immediately responded to the area, but they were updated that he had fled on foot and went into a home on Perry Street.
While the active investigation occurred, residents were asked to avoid the areas of Perry and Elgin Street.
Officers from the Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigations Bureau, Canine, Containment and Drugs & Intelligence units worked seamlessly together to safely arrest the man and bring a peaceful end to this dangerous situation.
Police say there are currently no other outstanding suspects.
The 31-year-old man from Woodstock has been charged with the following offences:
- Pointing a firearm.
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- And failing to comply with a probation order.
He was held in custody pending a bailing hearing scheduled for today.
