WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock man is $100,000 richer thanks to an OLG's Instant Crossword.
63-year-old Rob Meriam purchased the crossword scratch ticket from Sunrise Variety on Springbank Avenue in Woodstock.
Rob has been playing the lottery for 30 years. He says his favourite game to play is the Crossword because of the time and attention it takes to play the ticket.
While he was in Toronto picking up his winnings at the while at the OLG Prize Centre, Rob told staff that he was surprised to find out he won more the $500 he thought.
"I was at home scratching the ticket at the kitchen table when I noticed I matched about six words. I thought I won $500 at first but when I checked it at the store, the machine said Big Winner!"
Rob plans to first pay off some bills and then take his girlfriend, sister and brother-in-law out for dinner to celebrate.
