WOODSTOCK - The Mayor of Woodstock is heading to Ottawa this weekend for a renewable energy conference.
Trevor Birtch says this is a great opportunity to meet with leaders from the Province, academic scholars and hear some amazing presentations about renewable energy. Birtch says it is also a good chance to talk about Woodstock plan to apply for a University of Ottawa campus again in 2017 and let people know what we are doing in Oxford County and in Woodstock when it comes to renewable energy.
"I'll be able to be there with the Minister of Energy, who we have been having discussion with on our goals for Oxford County and what we would like to see for the City of Woodstock for the future as a centre of excellence for all of Ontario, perhaps even for Canada. Some of the dignitaries that I have had meetings with in the past, I'll be stopping by to see the ambassador to let him know that here in Ontario we are being very proactive in looking for new technologies and improving our economy and our environment."
Birtch says it is important to let people know what we are doing in Oxford County when it comes to renewable energy.
