Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Club Looking to Send Oxygen Concentrators to India

India has been one of the hardest hit countries during the global COVID-19 pandemic and they're in desperate need of emergency oxygen supplies.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Club is trying to help people in India Breathe by providing them with Oxygen Concentrators.

India is one of the hardest hit regions right now, during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The country is being ravaged at unprecedented levels and the death tolls are mounting every day. The medical resources in the country are over stretched and have surpassed capacity.

People are dying everyday at alarming rates and the hospitals are overwhelmed. One thing they are in desperate need of right now is emergency oxygen supplies. Woodstock-Oxford Rotary President Steve Zehr says the people of India are in need of help and Rotary is responding.

“Woodstock-Oxford Rotary is committing to 10 Oxygen Concentrators at $1000 each. That’s $10,000 we have pledged, to save lives in India. We hope that our Oxford community friends will donate to help us with our cause of providing much needed assistance to those in life threatening situations.”

Zehr says they're teaming up with rotary clubs all across the region, in hopes of sending the much needed medical supplies.

“In addition, other Rotary Clubs in southwestern Ontario are also raising funds, with the hope that we can jointly reach over $100,000 to fund 100 units. But with our own local fundraising crippled this past year, we really do need community support.”
