Woodstock Police Briefs - Wednesday March 9th

Woodstock Police briefs include a stunt driver on Houser's Lane, a shoplifting incident on Norwich Ave and a drug bust in the J&P Variety store parking lot.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is searching for a suspect after a shoplifting incident on Norwich Ave near Juliana Drive, late Friday morning.

The suspect is described as a 30 year old man, wearing a mask, a dark coloured jacket, baggy faded jeans, black shoes and a cream coloured backpack. He also has dark short hair.

He was last spotted heading westbound through the parking lot.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police arrested two people on drug trafficking charges late Friday afternoon. 

Members of the Drug Enforcement and Criminal Intelligence Unit stopped a vehicle in the J&P Variety store parking lot at around 3:00 p.m.

Police arrested both people in the vehicle on drug trafficking charges. Officers say they found around $3,000 worth of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and purple fentanyl.

Police did not release the names of the suspects, only to say they are 24 and 37 years old and both from Mississauga.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are happy to report they did not find any impaired drivers during a R.I.D.E. program on Friday night.

Officers checked 190 vehicles and no charges were laid.

WOODSTOCK - A 19 year old from Innerkip will be walking for a bit after getting busted for stunt driving.

Police clocked the teen going 148 km/h on Houser's Lane, which is a 60 km/h zone, on Saturday around 1:00 a.m. The driver had their vehicle towed from the scene and license suspended for 30 days.

WOODSTOCK - Police are investigating after several packages were stolen from the front porch of a home on Hawthorne Place. 

The theft happened around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

WOODSTOCK - Police are investigating after a business had several windows and doors smashed on Norwich Ave near Juliana Drive.

The mischief happened sometime overnight between Saturday and Sunday.
