A 40 year old man was arrested for impaired driving when an employee called police after they visited a drive through in Woodstock, Several vehicles were the target of mischief over the weekend and Police have issued a warning to speeders.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police had a busy weekend responding to several calls for service.
On Friday night they arrested a 40 year old man from Woodstock with impaired driving. Police made the arrest after getting a tip from an employee at a drive through who suspected the customer they had just served was impaired.
Woodstock Police are also investigating several thefts and cases of mischief.
Sometime around May 30th, a black Genesis Mammoth mountain bike with fat tires was stolen from an address on Adelaide St. near downtown Woodstock.
On Friday, someone tried to steal a pickup truck in the area of Brick Pond Lane. It was reported that the vehicle’s door locks had been punched out, however nothing was taken.
Then on Saturday someone caused about $500 in damage to a vehicle parked on James Street. Another case of mischief happened overnight on Monday when 4 windows were broken out of two different vehicles with ballast stones taken from train tracks.
Police are also preaching lock it or lose it after a vehicle entry on Juno Cr. on Monday night. Somone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet.
Theft Prevention Tips:
- Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle unattended
- Lock your vehicle doors
- Consider investing in home security cameras including cameras that can capture the area your vehicles are parked
- Install outdoor motion censored lights
Woodstock Police are also asking everyone to slow down in this nice weather.
