Woodstock Police Briefs

Briefs include several thefts in the Friendly City, mail tampering and a suspected case of arson.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating the theft of a trailer and are looking for the public's help.

The 53 foot long trailer was taken from a yard in the area of Springbank Ave South on Tuesday. The trailer was carrying General Motors auto parts.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating a suspected case of arson late Monday night on Keats Drive.

The structure fire caused about $5,000 in damage. Nobody was injured and the fire has been deemed suspicious and an investigation is ongoing.

WOODSTOCK - Police arrested two people in their 30's from Woodstock who were tampering with the mail at an apartment complex on Dundas Street.

Officers were called to the area on Wednesday morning. They were able to identify a man and a woman on video, prying open 6 different mail slots and stealing the mailed letters inside. 

A 34 year old Woodstock female and a 36 year old Woodstock male have both been charged with the following:

- Mischief Under $5000

- Theft not exceeding $5000

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating after a 2010 Black Mazda Tribute SUV was stolen from a parking lot on Wednesday night.

Police say the vehicle was taken from a parking lot at a business in the area of Norwich Ave and Juliana Drive sometime between 5:30 and 7 pm. 

Police are requesting anyone who witnessed the theft or with information about this investigation contact Woodstock Police or Oxford Crime Stoppers.

Police would like to remind the public of the following security tips to prevent vehicle theft.

- Do not stow keys in the vehicle’s gas cap.

- Do not leave valuables in an unattended vehicle especially in plain view.

- Ensure all vehicle doors are locked and windows are closed completely.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are looking for the public's help after an outboard motor was stolen from Pittock Park Road.

The theft happened on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30.
