WOODSTOCK - A 26 year old man from Woodstock was arrested early Friday morning breaking into a shed on Sloane Street.

The resident heard noises coming from the yard around 4:00 am and called police. Officers found the suspect and charged him with trespassing, break and enter and possession of break in instruments.

The police want to thank the resident for their quick and appropriate actions in this incident and remind the public to do the same. If you observe a crime such as a break and enter or theft do not approach or follow the suspect, you do not know their motives, mental/emotional state or if they are carrying a weapon. Get a good description of the suspect, their vehicle if they have one and the direction they are traveling and contact police immediately.

Anyone who gets a call like this is being told to hang up immediately and not provide any personal information.
