WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police handed out 15 tickets over the past two days after monitoring construction zones in the Friendly City.
WPS did a blitz at construction zones on Tuesday and Wednesday and we're disappointed to see so many people disobeying the traffic signs. Most of the charges were in the Springbank area. 13 of the tickets were for people driving through the closed road, one person was charged with careless driving and another charge for speeding. Constable Nikki VanLeeuwen tells Heart FM police were really disappointed with the results.
"I think the education is out there, the stop signs are there, the road closed signs are very clear and people are just blatantly disregarding the signs, disregarding our proactive education piece, in a hurry and trying to get through the traffic zones, if you have been in the area you will see a lot of workers in the area, it is not safe for people to be working there.
