Renovations are finally done at the Woodstock Police Service headquarters.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is ready to show off their new headquarters.
They are hosting an Open House on Saturday September 29th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Construction on the new building and renovations to the old building have been going on for almost two years.
The additions include new office space. It also brings the detectives, drug and intelligence unit back into one building. The renovations also make the detachment completely wheel chair accessible and they will now have an elevator as well for anyone with mobility issues.
Police Chief Bill Renton says they are excited to show off the new look detachment.
"Members of the public will have an opportunity to tour the new and renovated areas of our Headquarters. Members of our Service will be on hand to answer questions and provide demonstrations on the various technologies and specialized equipment that are utilized on a daily basis. We look forward and are excited for this opportunity to meet with the public."
The project was slated to be completed at just over $4 million dollars; however we don't have a final number on the cost at this time.
