Tax season is right around the corner and the Woodstock Police Service has received several reports regarding the CRA phone scam recently.
WOODSTOCK - March is Fraud Prevention Month.
With this in mind the Woodstock Police are warning the public about a high number of scam related calls in the City. With it being tax season, residents are getting more and more fraudulent calls from what appears to be the CRA.
The real CRA will never call you and threaten jail time if you don't pay up immediately. If you get a call like this, it is a scam.
Also never give out personal information over the phone and avoid opening emails from unfamiliar senders.
