A train traveling from Windsor to Toronto was stopped at the VIA Rail station in Woodstock as there was a threat of explosives on board
WOODSTOCK - On Friday evening shortly after 8pm, Woodstock Police responded to the VIA Rail Station in Woodstock after a threat of explosives were reported to be on a train heading from Windsor to Toronto. The train was stopped at the Woodstock station after crewmembers on board heard concerning information.
The over 200 passengers and 12 crew members were evacuated and all rail traffic was halted along the Canadian National Railway Corridor for a search to be conducted that proved the threat to be false. The passengers were able to re-board the train shortly after 10:30pm where the train continued on its way to Toronto. An 18 year old passenger has been arrested following the incident on the charge of Mischief over $5000. They will answer to their charges in a Woodstock courtroom on November 10th.
