It's the official start of the holiday season in the Friendly City.
WOODSTOCK - The holiday season is right around the corner for the City of Woodstock.
Manager of Special Events Kristen Broadhagen says it will officially begin a week from today with the Lighting of Museum Square from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
"We will do our countdown of the lights with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus there for photos. We will have free cookies, hot chocolate, a live ice carving demonstration and of course they will be carving something on Disney theme because our parade is A Very Disney Christmas!"
The North Fire Circus will also put on a show choreographed performance alongside electric violinist Dr. Draw from 5:40 p.m. to 6:10 p.m.
The free event will end with a performance from the Vocal Rhythm Oxford Choir from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Woodstock Art Gallery will be on site with a make your own keychain activity. The Woodstock Museum will also be hosting it's Christmas Scavenger Hunt ands kids will also be able to write their letters to Santa in the activity room as well.
