Robyn Wilson and the rest of the U15 London FC will compete at the National Championships in PEI from October 5th to October 10th.

WOODSTOCK - A striker sensation from Woodstock scored the clinching goal to send her team to the National Championships in Prince Edward Island.

Robyn Wilson plays for the U15 London Alliance FC, who were victorious at the Ontario Cup Provincial Championships two weekends ago.

Wilson started playing soccer in Woodstock at 4 years old, but she eventually made the move to London to play for their U9 team.

"I loved my team in Woodstock, so it was a pretty hard move, but I really wanted to play all year round. The girls on [Alliance FC] made the move a lot easier."

Last year's provincial tournament didn't go to plan, and it motivated the girls this season bring home the gold. Wilson said there was no better feeling than when she was able to put her team up 2-0 in the final in the 87th minute.

"It was so exciting. Everyone kind of got together and we shared the moment. Our coaches and all of our parents were super excited [as well]."

Wilson and the Alliance FC will represent Ontario at the National Championships in PEI from October 5th to the 10th to compete against Canada’s best from other provinces, and they have started a GoFundMe to raise money for the costly trip.

The team has raised over $8,000 so far toward their $10,000 goal, and Wilson could not believe the support the team has received from the community.

"It's really awesome. I really didn't expect it to be that much. Thank you to everyone who's supporting us and for all the good luck wishes. We appreciate it a lot."
