Woodstock Teacher Facing Two Disciplinary Hearings

The Ontario College of Teachers will be holding two disciplinary hearings for Jagminder Singh Rai. One centers around a female student in 2003, and the other looks at allegations from a female teacher and another female member of the public in 20016 and 2018.

WOODSTOCK - The Ontario College of Teachers will be holding two disciplinary hearings for a Woodstock teacher.

Jagminder Singh Rai worked for the Thames Valley District School Board and he is accused of professional misconduct in both cases.

According to one notice on the college's website, he is accused of having inappropriate relations with a student while he was an "occasional teacher" in Woodstock back in late 2003. The list of accusations includes kissing as well as touching/grabbing the student's breasts and private areas.

The notice also states that Rai invited the student to live with him, but also said that she didn't have to have sex with him. It also says Rai drove the student home after he was drinking alcohol, and the student also drove Rai home once after he had been drinking, even though she couldn't legally drive.

The hearing is scheduled for October 16th and October 18th this year.

The second notice posted on the college's website, accuses Rai of touching a female teacher's breasts and private areas without her consent in June 2016. It also accuses him of kissing and sexually touching an adult female member of the public without her consent in August of 2018.

The hearing date has not been set for that notice yet.

The Ontario College of Teachers did not disclose where Rai was teaching in Woodstock during the alleged incidents.
