City Council approved the list of recipients for the 2026 Student Civic Awards of Excellence last night.
WOODSTOCK - Five local teens will be honoured the City of Woodstock.
City Council signed off on the list of recipients for the 2026 Student Civic Awards of Excellence during last night's meeting. It includes Jamina Tieu from St. Mary's Catholic High School, Cohen White from Huron Park Secondary School, Evan Crouse from Woodstock Collegiate Institute, Marie-Eliel Edikeu from École Secondaire Catholique Notre-Dame, and Gurleen Saini from College Ave Secondary School.
The local high schools are tasked with nominating a graduating high school student for the honour each year. They have to not only have a good acedemic record, but also volunterring experience, excellent leadership skills, and be a good role model for others.
Each student will receive a $1,000 prize and special plaque from the city on July 9th.
