The 107,000 square foot facility will produce at least 50 new jobs in the Friendly City.
WOODSTOCK - Local Dignitaries were on hand for the officially ground breaking ceremony for the new Soprema plant coming to Woodstock.
The 107,000 square foot facility will produce at least 50 new jobs in the Friendly City. They will be making SBS- modified bitumen membranes, a fundamental waterproofing material for roofs. The company will also invest in new production lines to increase cost efficiency and enhance global competitiveness, making it the most innovative plant of the SOPREMA group.
Executive Vice President and CEO of SOPREMA Richard Voyer says this plant will feature state of the art technology.
“Our new Woodstock plant will feature state-of-the-art production technology. This is a major milestone in the evolution of SOPREMA Canada. With this investment, combined with our superior customer service and continuous innovation, we will be able to meet the increasingly high expectations of our customers and rapidly changing market."
Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch was excited to welcome Soprema to the Friendly City.
“SOPREMA is a leader in its field, both for the quality of its products and the innovation of its team, as evidenced by the products that will be manufactured in the new plant. Its presence reinforces the excellent positioning and the attractiveness of the Woodstock

The plant will be fully functional by the end of 2018. Woodstock Plant Manager Florent Bellini says some of the jobs are already posted online.
“We are already hiring the first members of our team, including maintenance and shipping managers as well as mechanics. Other positions will open in the coming months to complete all our services and functions. SOPREMA is renowned for its good working conditions, and we are convinced that its reputation will encourage the workforce to join our beautiful project.”
