Jennie Grevers is playing Elizabeth Tilford, the only woman hanged in Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - It is a special opportunity for a Woodstonian.
Jennie Grevers will be portraying Elizabeth Tilford in A Meal to Die For, which is Episode 4 in the series Condemned Woodstock. Grevers says she saw an ad on Facebook about the role.
"So, I thought maybe it was just like, I don't know, some background work or something, right? I didn't think it was really kind of a big deal, but I kind of reenacted the photo, put the sunglasses on, pulled my hair back into a bun, and submitted my picture and just kind of a brief resume of me."
She mentioned it was a week later that she got an email to read lines, so she sent a video, then a week after that she was notified that she was cast for the role. Grevers adds she went on YouTube to learn how to knit, as Tilford knitted while she was in jail. Grevers talks about her time filming the episode.
"Production is amazing. I mean, they're just so friendly. Everybody was just so great. the rest of the cast, I mean, we were in background holding together, right, while we're waiting for our scenes and stuff. Mine took three days."
Over the three days, she filmed at the Museum, which was the trial and sentencing scene, then she was at the old jail, and that was the scenes of the hanging, and the last day they were at a house on Light Street, and portrayed the scene of Tilford poisoning her husband during dinner.
People with Bell Fibe TV1 will be able to watch the episode starting today.
