WRPS Investigating Another Nut-Related Theft

A transport truck containing $70,000 worth of pistachios was stolen in Wilmot Township Saturday night.

WILMOT TOWNSHIP - The Waterloo Regional Police Service is trying to crack the case of a stolen transport truck in Wilmot Township.

It was loaded with about $70,000 worth of pistachios when it was taken from the yard of a business in the area of Foundry Street and Gingerich Road at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

This is the second nut-related vehicle theft for the WRPS in the last three months, after a truck containing walnuts was stolen in the area of Eagle Street North and Hespeler Road in Cambridge on November 5th, 2023.

Anyone with information regarding either of these incidents should call the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-570-9777 with extension 6399. You can also submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
