Founder Justin Konietzny says they are hoping to have enough people join to make their first meeting happen in February.
TILLSONBURG - 25 members have committed to 100 Men Tillsonburg since its inception.
Founder of the group Justin Konietzny says he's hoping they can run their first meeting in February, but it's contingent on more people joining.
"I would encourage anybody if they're sitting on the fence about [joining the club] to have a look at what we're doing in Norfolk County as well as the 100 Women groups that are operating in Norfolk County and Oxford, they're doing some great things. I think the 100 Women in Norfolk just did a $16,000 donation to the Friends of the Library in Norfolk, so the idea works. Once we get the memberships, we can really have a significant impact."
The idea behind 100 Men is that each year, the group meets four times to nominate local charities. From those nominations, three organizations are selected to give a pitch to the 100 Men on how they can impact the community. From there, the group decides the winner, who gets $100 from each member.
With 100 members, that is four $10,000 donations each year to local organizations that seek positive change within Tillsonburg and surrounding areas.
