1000 Face Suspension

Over 1000 Oxford County students facing suspension if their vaccination records aren't brought up to date

OXFORD COUNTY - Over one thousand students in Oxford County could face suspension if their immunization records aren't up to date by February 19.

According to Public Health, notices were initially sent to parents of children with outstanding immunization records back in December. Parents who have yet to comply will receive an order of suspension this week as part of the Immunization of School Pupils Act.

Public Health nurses will be available after hours on February 5, 10, 12 and 17 from 5:30-7:30pm to take calls from parents since the number of notices was so high. The number to call is at 519-539-9800 ext. 3600.

Not all health care providers send immunization records to Oxford County Public Health. There are five convenient ways for parents to notify Public Health of their child’s immunization record: by mail, phone, fax, in person at 410 Buller St., or by filling out the online form on the Oxford County Public Health website.
