OXFORD COUNTY - County Council reviewed the 2022 Annual Wastewater Treatment Plant Summary.
According to reports, it shows a continued strong performance in wastewater management for Oxford.
Warden Marcus Ryan says the reports are necessary to ensure clean water from wells in the County.
"All the water that residents of Oxford County drink come from wells. Wheather it's a private well like mine, or a public well where the water is treated and distributed through the city of Woodstock. That means the water is coming from the ground, and our waste water is also discharged to the ground. It's very important that the quality of the waste water is high quality."
The county prides itself on its ability to provide clean water to 70,000 residents and businesses in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
The Warden also encourages the community to review the waste water report online. It highlights each section of the county so that residents can have a better idea of the water quality in their area specifically.
