United Way Oxford has hosted a successful 2025 Ultimate Burger Battle across the County.
OXFORD COUNTY - The 2nd annual United Way Oxford Ultimate Burger Battle was a huge success.
A total of 16 restaurants participated with a special burger on their menu to raise money for United Way. Out of the 16, nine platinum restaurants were in the running for the Ultimate Burger prize. Resource Development Coordinator, Megan Porter, talks about the top three finishers in the People's Choice category.
"Coming in third place, a new participant, the Copper Mug in Tillsonburg. In second place, many people in Woodstock will have tried this burger because they sold a lot of them, the Dickens Ale House Burger from the Charles Dickens Pub. Then in first place for the People's Choice, I'm not sure I have the words to convey how excited people were about visiting this location, but our first-year participant and winner of the People's Choice Award is Madmash Brewery in Tavistock."
Porter goes on to talk about who the Community Ambassadors crowned the Ultimate Burger.
"But we do have a winner for the Ultimate Burger of the Year, and they are also going to be so pumped. You have heard me say these words already once this morning. The Madmash Ultimate Jamin’ Burger is our Ultimate Burger of the Year."
The last category to be talked about was the most burgers sold during the campaign. Marketing Manager with Sierra Construction, Angela Smith, announced the winner.
"With 609 burgers sold throughout the month. The Ultimate Burger Sold award goes to The Mill's Buddy Burger."
In total, between sponsorships from the restaurants and the public going to each place and buying burgers, the 2025 Ultimate Burger Battle raised $20,912.
