Oxford OPP responded to 3 crashes in 5 minutes during a crazy morning commute on the 401 near Woodstock and Ingersoll.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford OPP had a busy morning after several collisions on the 401 during the morning hour commute.
The first crash happened just before 7:00 am near Highway 59 in the West Bound Lanes. A 2005 Hyundai lost control hitting a 2014 Black Mazda. No injuries were reported however two of the three lanes were closed for about an hour to allow for an investigation. A 48 year old man from Cambridge was charged in the crash with failing to drive in a marked lane.
Just minutes after that crash another collision happened in the East Bound Lanes near Ingersoll. A blue Ford Focus lost control hitting the centre median and coming to a rest in the middle and fast lane. Another vehicle collided with the Ford and the 401 was blocked for a short time to allow for the clean up. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 3rd crash happened just minutes later when a transport driver tried to avoid the first collision, putting his truck into the ditch. The driver was not injured and was towed out.
Oxford OPP is reminding the motoring public to drive according to road and weather conditions. Rain and wet roads were a factor in all these incidents.
