A Local Teenager Will Appear in Two Films at the Cannes Film Festival

14 year old Jackson Martin will be featured in 2 films at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Firefighter Richard Martin is a proud papa. Martin's 14 year old son Jackson is appearing in two films at the Cannes Film Festival including a feature film and short film. Jackson has been acting in commercials and films for around six years. Through his agency located in London Jackson secured the lead role for the feature film titled Sleeping Giant.

"We did a big feature film over the summer up in Thunder Bay that's called Sleeping Giant and then I have one short film called Boy."

"I'm the lead Adam, basically he is living on the beach with his parents in a cottage and he tries to befriend these two boys and they start doing rebellious things and he gets involved and faces problems with his dad and basically you're just watching the boys grow up throughout the summer."

Jackson said before he spoke to his mother who is originally from Woodstock he didn't know what the film festival was, "I actually wasn't very familiar with Cannes until my mom explained to me that it was one of the biggest film festivals in the world and it was in France and there is a red carpet and the Hunger Games was there last year I'm pretty sure, it's going to be a great experience for sure."
