A Look at Tillsonburg's Transit Operations

The Tillsonburg Transit Advisory Committee presented a year end report to Town Council recently. The Committee is responsible for the enhancement of the TGO transit operation and the regional transportation model.

TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg Town Council heard a year end report from the Tillsonburg Transit Advisory Committee. 

Mayor Stephen Molnar says the committee takes on a lot of responsibility in their terms of reference. 

"They have assumed and are being even more proactive, both regarding the further enhancements of our local TGO transit operation and then in kind of the visionary aspects of the regional transportation model, which we are very integrated in, relative to Minister Mulroney's recent release regarding the Southwestern Ontario plan." 

Molnar says Town council is impressed with the group as a whole and the work they are doing engaging the community. The report talked about having even more engagement with residents and what they need in terms of transportation. 

Molnar adds that the committee will continue to focus on accessibility and sustainability.  

"Both financially and to the user groups that need this service locally, and as we continue to improve that, understanding that it is not a perfect situation currently, but that is being realistic, that this made in Tillsonburg solution, will also be a comprehensive part of the overall master plan for Southwestern Ontario."
