Blandford Blenheim tax payers could face an increase of 2.25 percent, if a proposed budget of $4,931,000 is approved by township council.
BLANDFORD BLENHEIM TOWNSHIP - Budget talks have begun in Blandford Blenheim Township; and it doesn't look good for the average tax payer.
They could face an increase of 2.25 percent in 2018, if a draft budget of $4,931,000 is approved by township council.
CAO Clerk Rodger Mordue explains the reasoning behind the tax boost.
"The cost of living is really what it comes down to; electricity prices are a little higher and fuel prices."
Mordue says they have more budget meetings coming up.
"It will be presented to council again in two weeks with a few minor alterations and it will come to council again in the end of February."
