Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County's Trivia Night raised a total of $12,500 last Friday night.
WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County hosted it's first in-person fundraiser since COVID began, and it was a huge success!
Resource Development Manager Liz Wismer-Van Meer says Trivia Night raised a total of $12,500 last Friday night, surpassing their $10,000 goal.
"Between the support of those who were in attendance and our sponsors, we just can't thank them enough for helping us make our first in-person event such a huge success and really light that fire under us again to get back to fundraising and supporting the young people here in Oxford County."
A total of 19 teams packed the Polish Hall in Woodstock. Triviality finished in third place, Team Magnitude won second place and Wismer-Van Meer says the Smartinis got to take home the first place trophy at the end of the night.
"They have been a part of Trivia Night for a number of years so it was for them to take home the trophy this year as the top winning team."
Wismer-Van Meer says they also sold pretty much all of their 50/50 tickets and the lucky winner got to go home with over $460.
All of the money raised through Trivia Night will help run Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship programs for youth in our community.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is hosting Play for Kids Sake right now and sign up for those events online here. Wismer-Van Meer says they will also be hosting an online auction this spring and they will bring back the Rally for Restaurants coupon booklets this summer.
