A public safety alert from Perth OPP, informing the public to avoid an area on Perth Line 49
PERTH COUNTY - Police are advising the public to not enter the area of Perth Line 49 between Perth Road 135 and Perth Road 140.
Perth County OPP have not released any details as to why the public safety alert has been issued, they are simply saying there is an active situation underway in the area.
More details will come as they are released.
UPDATE: The stretch of road is now closed.
UPDATE (Sunday April 15th): The Special Investigations United has invoked their mandate. The SIU is called in whenever there is a circumstance involving police and civilians that has resulted in serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault. No other information has been released.
