The public has a chance to ask their questions regarding the Beachville air quality monitoring results at the Colombo Club in Beachville.
BEACHVILLE - The results of an air quality assessment for the Beachville area will be discussed tonight.
Officials with Oxford County Public Health, Public Health Ontario, and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change will share their air monitoring results. Oxford County ordered the air quality tests after hearing community concerns about air quality due to the existing aggregate operations in the area, specifically the local lime quarry that is the proposed site of a private landfill by Walker Environmental Group.
Peter Haywood tells Heart FM they are encouraging everyone to come out to the open house and ask questions.
"This will be an opportunity for the residents to hear information on the air monitoring results from the Ministry of Environment as well as Public Health Ontario and Oxford County Public Health will be giving their results from the literature review."
Haywood tells Heart FM the purpose behind these studies.
"So the purpose of this assessment is to provide information on which to base risk management decisions about air quality in the Beachville area, so once this study is completed, we can review the results and then determine the next steps for Beachville air quality."
The findings will be presented on Tuesday September 1st at the Colombo Club in Beachville from 6-8 p.m.
You can see the results from the air quality test which are now posted online here
