INGERSOLL/TILLSONBURG - The Ford Government has announced an investment of more than $2.5 million for Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.

Alexandra Hospital will receive most of the funding with $2,252,742. Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital will receive a cheque for the remaining $338,620.

Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says both hospitals will put the money to good use.

"This funding allows our health care system partners to address urgent infrastructure renewal needs, which is part of the plan to build a stronger, more convenient, and connected health care system."

Nadia Faccia, the President and CEO of Alexandra Hospital and TDMH, gives us more details regarding what the money will go towards.

"At Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll, we have installed two new generators and also have been able to modernize our service elevator. At Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, we have been able to modernize the elevators, work on our roof, replace our windows and our dock."

The Ford Government is investing a total of $182 million towards 131 hospitals and 65 community health service providers across Ontario. The money is coming from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund and the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
