Windsor Police say the U.S. bound lanes of the Ambassador Bridge are open, but drivers should avoid taking Huron Church Road to the border crossing.
WINDSOR - Officials decided to temporarily close the Ambassador Bridge border crossing between Windsor and Detroit.
Protestors against COVID-19 mandates and restrictions blocked traffic in both directions. The Windsor demonstration started yesterday morning.
According to the Essex County OPP, about 100 protestors remained on scene earlier this morning and drivers heading to the United States should take the Bluewater Bridge crossing in Sarnia.
Windsor Police say the U.S. bound lanes of the Ambassador Bridge are open and they can be accessed Wyandotte Street West entrance. Traffic is still backed up along Huron Church Road and police are recommending drivers find an alternate route to the border.
