The Ambi Kare Diversity and Inclusion Block Party will be happening on Saturday May 27th and all of the money raised will be split between United Way Oxford and the Canada Mental Health Association.
WOODSTOCK - Ambi Kare is gearing up for its celebration block party for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
It is free to attend, but donations will be accepted with all money raised being split between United Way Oxford and the Canadian Mental Health Association. They will also be collecting food donations for the Salvation Army.
Organizer Gagna Totaram gave a sneak peek into what kids can expect during the event.
“We are going to have the famous Brampton Batman back again, with his bat mobile of course. We have face painting, and balloon twisting. There’s also a DJ and live singing planned.”
They will also be hosting a live auction featuring over $10,000 worth of prizes, including a laptop, kitchen accessories, a drone, a flat-screen TV and a $1,200 diamond ring.
Totaram says he was first inspired back in the late 2000s, after his then 4-year-old daughter wanted to run a lemonade stand and donate the money to people in need.
They revisited the idea again in 2016 when his daughter, who was now 12, asked again about the lemonade stand. That year the first block party was introduced.
The block party is taking place on Saturday May 27th at 2:00 p.m. on the corner of Alberni Rd. and Munnoch Blvd.
