Woodstock's very own Anna B has become the youngest person ever to crack the top 10 in the CBC Toyota Searchlight contest.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock singer-songwriter Anna Belleth has cracked the top 10 in the CBC Toyota Searchlight contest.
The Grade 11 student is the youngest person ever to crack the top 10. Anna B beat out nearly 2,500 artists with her original song Goodbye.
It is the same song she used to win the Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Night In earlier this year hosted by Greg Morton. Anna wrote the song herself and has already performed at a Toronto Blue Jays game and has plenty of experience singing and performing in musical theatre.
Industry judges will select the winner and runners up next Tuesday June 22nd.
The grand prize winners of the CBC Toyota Searchlight competition will get an Allan Slaight Juno Master Class in the fall of 2021. The class is a week in the fall and will allow the winner to be surrounded by the music industry's best, plus a trip to Canada's national music awards in 2022.
The grand prize also includes a recording residency at National Music Centre in Calgary and help in promoting your music. Runner up prizes include help in promoting your music and money for studio times.
Anna started writing music during a challenging time in elementary school and has never looked back. You can read more about her online here.
