Over $11,000 was raised after nearly 75 items were up for bid last week.
OXFORD COUNTY - The United Way of Oxford's Auction is now complete and enjoyed another successful year.
Over 70 items were up for grabs and they designed it so there was something for everyone. Executive Director with United Way Oxford, Kelly Gilson, explains how everything went over the past week. "It was amazing our best auction ever achieving just over $11,000, and we were thrilled also with the quality of products and services that were available for people to bid upon to help make that reality happen."
Gilson talked about where the money will be going. "Those dollars go to our annual campaign and of course were in the final stages of our campaign now. We are anticipating a campaign shortfall, so the online auction raised a little more than we had budgeted for, and the dollars will go to ensure that we have a strong and healthy community."
With their 5th Auction being the most successful to date, Gilson spoke to Heart FM on how this money will help them with their campaign that ends in February. "It is not too late, we rely on the generosity of individuals and corporations within the community to make a difference. If individuals or organizations were thinking of making a donations this would be a great time to do that as we get close wrapping up through now to the end of the year."
