The Citizen's Police Academy is a free 10-week program that begins on February 21st. Applications will be accepted until February 10th.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford OPP is looking for applicants for the upcoming Citizen's Police Academy.
The academy gives citizens the opportunity to learn areas of policing and will cover a wide range of topics. From recruiting to K9s, forensics, and traffic enforcement.
Participants will tour the TIllsonburg detachment, learn about the Auxiliary Unit and have a demonstration of a breath test.
The sessions will be run once a week for ten weeks on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting February 21st. The deadline to apply is February 10th. You must be 18 years or older and provide photo ID with the application.
The OPP aim to provide each participant with a better understanding of the challenges and responsibilities that its officers face every day.
