Local businesses can now apply to be featured on the Oxford Shopping Channel website.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation is once again teaming up with Community Futures Oxford, Tourism Oxford and others for a second round of the Oxford Shopping Channel.
Rural Oxford Director Ronda Stewart says the website was first launched during this past holiday season and it was a huge hit.
"It has a separate listing of all the different video features that were done for the first wave of the Oxford Shopping Channel and we'll house them there for the second wave as well. We will also pump them out through Facebook and social media."
The videos highlight local retail and brick and mortar type businesses.
Stewart says they're encouraging participating businesses to not only share their own video to their social media pages, but also some of the other videos as well.
"We did review the stats from the first wave and those video series reached over 70,000 people. We did a deep dive into where those views came from and a good chunk of those views came from that organic sharing and reach."
The filming for the second round of videos will take place once it's safe to do so.
Local businesses who would like to be featured on the website can send an e-mail to Crystal Van Roekel at crystal@ruraloxford.ca. She's the Project Lead so she will be able to walk you through the application process and answer any questions you may have.
