Nominations are now being accepted for the 6th Annual AppreSHEation Award.
WOODSTOCK - Organizers of the Oxford County International Women's Day have put the call out for nominations for this year's AppreSHEation Award.
According to one of the event organizers, Phyl McCrum, the award recognizes the unpaid work of a woman, group or organization of women who contribute to advancing the status of other women within the county.
The award will be handed out March 6th during the International Women's Day celebration in Woodstock at the Oxford Auditorium. McCrum says they are looking for the community's nominations by February 13th. "We're very excited and can't wait to see and to read all the wonderful stories and we have provided criteria of what we look for and we're really thinking that that will be helpful for people in writing up why they feel that this person is worthy and would like to put their name forward for the award."
Click here to link through to their Facebook page for the nomination form. Hard copy forms are also available by contacting Sue Barg at 519-539-1276 ext. 319 or suebarg@casoxford.on.ca. McCrum can also be contacted for the forms at Ingamo Homes, 519-421-0383 ext. 223.
This is the sixth year for the award which in the past has gone to Survivor's Voice, Zonta Club, Elizabeth Mayberry, Tracey Kaiman and Mary Anne Silverthorne.
