Construction is underway, with the grand opening ceremony scheduled for December 2026.
INGERSOLL - ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks is bringing a new facility to Ingersoll.
The manufacturing site will address enhancing their current internal supply chain. Six employees have been hired for this plant, but that will expand to 30 employees by the end of 2026.
With the new 154,000 square foot building, ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks will also be able to meet the future needs of internal operations in Ontario and Michigan. The facility will produce steel blanks, which are essential components used in the assembly of larger, more complex welded blanks.
Executive Vice President of New Blanking at AMTB, Rob Whitmore explains why Ingersoll was the right fit for their company. “The construction of this facility marks a significant milestone for AMTB and the Town of Ingersoll. Our site search yielded 41 different sites to consider, and Ingersoll came out on top with a central location, access to skilled employees, competitive cost, and the ability to meet our accelerated schedule. Hiring is underway in preparation for our launch next year.”
Ingesoll's Mayor Brian Petrie also commented on how the town will benefit from the new facility.
“We couldn't be more honoured that ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks chose Ingersoll as their home. To be selected from 41 potential sites is truly humbling, and we're incredibly grateful for this investment in our community. This opportunity is most exciting thanks to AMTB's genuine commitment to working hand-in-hand with local businesses and residents. Their approach to building this facility through prioritizing local partnerships and workforce shows they're not just building in Ingersoll; they're becoming part of Ingersoll.”
Construction is underway and is on pace to be completed by December 2026.
