A local artist will be making a stop in Ingersoll after displaying her work at the John A. Libby Gallery in Toronto
INGERSOLL - A familiar face and local artist will be returning to Ingersoll after 32 years.
Jennifer Lawson will be displaying an exhibit of her watercolour paintings from May 29th until June 4th at the Elmhurst Inn. The Lawson family is well known in the area as her father was Dr. John Lawson and the family donated the Lawson Tract nature reserve on McBeath Road in Southwest Oxford. She tells Heart FM they are going to have a reunion showing on June 3rd and she hopes to see a lot of old familiar faces.
"I will be showing a short powerpoint about my art and I'm really hoping my brother Robin, when he gets back from Taiwan will really step up to help with the Lawson highlights portion of that powerpoint."
The reunion will take place on June 3rd in the afternoon and it does cost $15 to attend and will also include appetizers. You can also stop by anytime during the exhibit from May 29th to June 4th to view the art for free. Lawson explains some of the inspiration behind her work.
"It's kind of old world, old houses, old gardens. I love farms; we always vacationed at my uncle's farm in Scotland, they had like 1500 sheep. We always had pet sheep when I was little."
Lawson's work will be on display in Toronto at the John A. Libby Gallery in Toronto from May 4 until 7 before she brings it down to Ingersoll.
