Those looking for a career change and thinking about entering one of the skilled trades can now sign up for the At Your Crossroads program.
OXFORD COUNTY - A new employment program has just launched in Oxford County.
Marketing Specialist Camilo Galvis says At Your Crossroads is for those looking to change their career and thinking about entering one of the skilled trades.
"Right now there's a huge demand in Canada, in Ontario and in Oxford County for people who know something related to skilled trades. So if you're curious, just sign up because it doesn't have any cost and you might come across what could be a fulfilling career."
At Your Crossroads is an eight week program complete with online sessions with with employers and practical exercises. Galvis says you'll also be able to meet one-on-one with a mentor during the final two weeks of the program so they can develop a personalized career plan for you.
"If you want to start a businesses in the skilled trades, find a job or if you're wondering what kind of qualifications you need our mentors will be able to help you with that so you can get closer to your goals."
The program is completely free and sign up online here.
At Your Crossroads was created by The Small Business Centre, Community Employment Services, Literacy Link South Central, Fanshawe College (Woodstock Campus) and the Workforce Planning and Development Board. It's partially funded by the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada through Employment Ontario.
