OPP in Tavistock are concerned about ATV riders in that area of the county. The EZT Safety Committee is having OPP Constable Mark Foster speak about the rules that apply to off-road vehicles at an ATV education night. It's this Wednesday, at 7PM at the Innerkip Community Centre. Constable Mike Hanna says the biggest concern is off-road riders taking it onto the road. "People are driving them down the roads. I've stopped people driving up to 80km/h down the back roads, thinking that they're just a vehicle trying to get from A to B. But that's not the case. They're breaking the law." Hanna says there have also been some collisions this year involving ATV's that are a cause for concern.
