Three months of jail time and strict orders not to own animals for five years. That's the sentence for 43 year-old Abraham Loewen after officers found neglected horses on his farm in Aylmer. The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals went his property back in March and April of 2011. They found two emaciated horses and one dead horse. But, it's not the first time Loewen was charged for animal neglect. In April of 2009, he pled guilty to four counts of animal neglect for four other horses that were found in poor condition. At the time, Loewen got three years of probation. That means during the 2011 investigation he was in breach of his probation. Loewen must also pay a $2,000 fine in this recent sentence.
