Toronto Police believe he was violating a court order involving a female victim.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police have taken a suspect into custody.
There was reasonable grounds from the Toronto Police Service that the man violated his conditions, and judicial authorization for a search warrant was received for his home in the Friendly City. On Wednesday, officers went an apartment in the south end of the City and arrested a 51-year-old Woodstock man for breaching a court order involving a female victim. This involved members of the Emergency Response Unit, K9 Unit and Uniform Patrol.
Upon police arrival, the male barricaded himself inside a bedroom, but after a period of containment and negotiation, officers were able to safely take the male into custody. No injuries were reported during the arrest.
The man has since been transported back to Toronto and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
