If you plan on going to Dover today for Friday the 13th celebrations, just know that OPP will have plenty of R.I.D.E checks set up, so plan ahead accordingly.
PORT DOVER - Today is Friday the 13th.
That means you will notice a lot of bikers out and about heading to Port Dover. Depending on the weather, the small town has been known to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors on Friday the 13th. OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk says they really want to put out this message to motorists.
"We are asking all motor vehicle operators and motor cyclists to take those two extra seconds, before you change those lanes, before you proceed through that intersection, it could be the difference between life and death or being in a collision or not being involved."
Sanchuk also notes if you plan on going to Dover today, they will have plenty of R.I.D.E checks set up, so plan ahead accordingly.
"So if you plan on drinking, make sure you stay overnight because I guarantee that you will run through one of our RIDE spot checks, and you know what, we will give you a free call to your lawyer and a cell with your name on it, because we are not going to tolerate anyone putting other individuals at risk and innocent families or anyone in the motoring public."
