A flag raising ceremony was held outside the Oxford County Administration Building this morning in honour of Black History Month.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Pan-African Flag is now flying outside the Oxford County Administration Building for Black History Month.
Warden Marcus Ryan was joined by members of the Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association for the flag-raising this morning.
The Oxford County Library will also be hosting a special event its Ingersoll branch this Saturday, called “Early Black Settlements in Oxford County." Local historian Heather Rennalls will educate residents about some of the local Black history in our community and everything should get started at 2:00 p.m.
You have to register online or call the library in advance if you want to attend.
